Junior Primary Tournaments

The introduction to formal sports begins in Grades One and Two during compulsory sports, under the guidance of our Sports Department. Sport is an important facet in the holistic development of every child at our school.  Our vision is to :-

  • Introduce children to a variety of sporting codes from a young age.
  • Develop healthy bodies and minds.
  • Encourage sportsmanship.
  • Foster enjoyment of sport.
  • Recognise and encourage sporting talent.
  • Expose children to match-like situations.
  • Establish healthy competitive spirits.

All children are given the opportunity to display their sporting skills in a tournament at the end of the first, and third terms.  The girls play netball, hockey, baseball and tennis. The boys play cricket, soccer and rugby.  Much fun is had by all.

The Sports Department consists of Mr Brooks, Mrs Sweet, Mr Bell, Mr Moon, Miss Naidu and Mr Dekker. Mrs Hinchcliffe is the HOD of Sport. Dedicated caretaker in assistance is Ayanda Shosha - field marking, etc.
